Chicago Fire at Red Bull New York

HARRISON, N.J. — Chicago Fire FC and the New York Red Bulls played to a 1-1 draw on Saturday night at Sports Illustrated Stadium. Chicago broke through in the 38th minute when Philip Zinckernagel sprung Jonathan Bamba down the flank; Bamba fed left back Viktor Radojević, whose pass set up Maren Haile-Selassie for a curling finish into the top corner. New York pushed for an equalizer as the second half wore on and got one in the 86th minute, when Omar Valencia found Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting at the top of the box. Choupo-Moting beat three defenders before slipping a cross through the six-yard area, where Cameron Harper headed it home. Ethan Horvath made four saves for New York, while Chris Brady stopped five shots at the other end as the sides finished even on the night, 12 shots apiece.
