FLUSHING, N.Y. — New York City FC faced off against St. Louis CITY SC at Citi Field on Saturday night, with both sides battling through a scoreless first half. NYCFC found a breakthrough early in the second half, as Hannes Wolf opened the scoring in the 51st minute off an assist from Maxi Moralez. New York maintained control for much of the half, but St. Louis continued to press for an equalizer late. St. Louis broke through in second-half stoppage time, with Brendan McSorley scoring off a pass from Lukas MacNaughton in the sixth minute of added time, resulting in a 1-1 draw.
