HARRISON, N.J. — Red Bull New York fell 1-0 to Nashville SC on Wednesday night at Sports Illustrated Stadium after conceding a late header in second-half stoppage time. New York controlled the run of play for much of the match, with Emil Forsberg, Adri Mehmeti and Ronald Donkor generating the bulk of the game’s chances, including a first-half effort from Julian Hall that drifted just wide and a shot from Forsberg that was denied by Nashville’s Brian Schwake. The match shifted in Nashville’s favor once Cristian Espinoza and Andy Najar entered after the hour mark. A Nashville chance in the 81st minute was called back for offside before the visitors broke through in second-half stoppage time, when Espinoza sent a free kick toward the back post and Maxwell Woledzi headed it past New York’s Ethan Horvath to score the only goal of the night.
