NEW YORK — Gotham FC came back from a two-goal deficit at halftime to beat Seattle Reign FC 3-2 on Saturday at Icahn Stadium. The match was delayed for two and a half hours by thunderstorms and smoke and heat advisories. Seattle opened the scoring in the 14th minute with a penalty from Mia Fishel and extended the lead to 2-0 in the 22nd minute on a Maddie Mercado finish off a Maddie Dahlien cross. Seattle held that 2-0 margin for nearly an hour, missing a chance to add a third goal when Dahlien’s 57th-minute penalty struck the post. Gotham’s comeback arrived late in the game. Esther González converted a back-post cross from Jaedyn Shaw in the 81st minute, then leveled the score in second-half stoppage time, also assisted by Shaw. Rose Lavelle scored the eventual game-winner three minutes later, converting a pass from Sam Kerr.
